Welcome to Restaurant Sophie, the enchanting heart of Kasteel de Wittenburg.
The restaurant is named after Sophie Adrienne, Baroness Sloet van Oldruitenborgh. Together with her husband, Jonkheer Speelman, she was among the first residents of the castle. The couple traveled extensively around the world in search of inspiration and new experiences. Traces of their journeys can still be found in Restaurant Sophie to this day.
Under the guidance of head chef Erik van der Hulst, Restaurant Sophie presents refined dishes from classical French cuisine. The menu features traditional French starters, main courses, and desserts, prepared with great care and craftsmanship.
The menu is complemented by subtle, light Asian influences, a gentle nod to the distant travels of Sophie and Speelman. The dishes are served with carefully selected wines and signature cocktails, creating a complete culinary experience.
Group reservations for lunch and diner
From Wednesday through Sunday, we serve lunch or dinner for groups of 10 persons or more. In our restaurant, we can accommodate a long table for up to 24 guests, and on our terrace we can welcome up to 30 guests. Our chef has composed a selection of delicious menus, which we would be happy to discuss with you. We of course take any allergies or dietary requirements into account.
Parties of fewer than 10 persons are welcome to order from our à la carte menu.

Terrace of Restaurant Sophie
From May 1st, the terrace of Restaurant Sophie will be open again! Situated by the water, with a beautiful view of the forest, it is the perfect place to enjoy drinks or a delightful dinner. On Saturdays and Sundays, you are also very welcome to join us for lunch on the terrace.
