Welcome to Restaurant Sophie, the enchanting heart of Kasteel de Wittenburg.
The restaurant is named after Sophie Adrienne, Baroness Sloet van Oldruitenborgh. Together with her husband, Jonkheer Speelman, she was among the first residents of the castle. The couple traveled extensively around the world in search of inspiration and new experiences. Traces of their journeys can still be found in Restaurant Sophie to this day.
From 16 July 2026, we look forward to welcoming you to our new terrace concept.
Let us surprise you with exclusive barbecue dishes and fresh specialities from our Seafood Bar. During this culinary shared dining experience, our chefs will prepare the dishes live in front of you in a unique live cooking experience.
To ensure every guest enjoys the best possible culinary experience, we welcome you by reservation only.
*On Wednesdays we exclusively serve a chef’s menu.
In addition to our live cooking experience, you can now also enjoy live music on our terrace.

Group reservations for lunch and diner
From Wednesday through Sunday, we serve lunch or dinner for groups of 10 persons or more. In our restaurant, we can accommodate a long table for up to 24 guests, and on our terrace we can welcome up to 30 guests. Our chef has composed a selection of delicious menus, which we would be happy to discuss with you. We of course take any allergies or dietary requirements into account.
Parties of fewer than 10 persons are welcome to order from our à la carte menu.
